Trinco opening its doors to trade fair from 29 to 31 October

The Chamber of Commerce and industries of Trincomalee District (CCITD), the largest and most respected organisation of the private sector with a membership of over 350 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Trincomalee District is taking a step ahead to opening the doors of Trincomalee to showcase the capabilities, products and services of SMEs in the district for the country’s business community and potential investors.



The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of the Trincomalee District and the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka is organising a Trade Fair and Knowledge Sharing Event on 29th, 30th and 31st October 2010 at the Hindu Cultural Hall, Trincomalee.

The objectives of the Trade Fair are to create a venue to showcase local skill, knowledge and products to a wider market, encourage a forum of knowledge sharing among producers, markets and government personnel with an aim to increase access to information and enhance public-private partnership, develop market linkage regionally and nationally, and inform the audiences about the UNIDO projects, functions, activities and success stories, as a whole and in Sri Lanka.

In this context, UNIDO and CCITD invite all leading business organisations, entrepreneurs, financial institutions and other service providers in the district to join hands with them to organise a grand scale service Trade Fair to promote the district’s SMEs, with a hope of contributing more towards the development of regional economy.
