President Tourist Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL) and CEO/Deputy Chairman Serene Pavilions Anura Lokuhetty and Project Director – SWITCH ASIA Program: Greening Sri Lanka Hotels Project and also a former President of THASL Srilal Miththapala, both senior tourism industry professionals, spoke about the importance of Sri Lanka hotels adopting sustainable environmental practices at the Eco Vendor Meet Mart organised jointly by THASL and SWITCH ASIA Programme: Greening Sri Lanka Hotels Project, on 10 May 2011 at Hotel Ramada Colombo.
The event brought together, for the first time, a cross section of vendors providing environmental and energy conservation products and services, with a large number of hoteliers. Each vendor was allowed time for a short presentation followed by fellowship during which time the hoteliers were able to meet and discuss with the vendors on a one-to-one basis.
The event was jointly sponsored by THASL and EU SWITCH ASIA Programme: Greening Sri Lanka Hotels Project, implemented by The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
