Lanka Sathosa the largest retail chain network of Sri Lanka driving the agenda of being the price setter to the nation tied up this time around with a truly Sri Lanka power company Natures Secret to help SME challenge the blue multinational and blue chip market leaders in the baby care market.
The chief Guest Minister for Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathuideen said: “It is great that truly Sri Lankan companies are challenging multinational brands. As the Ministry of Industry and commerce I want to see these brands do well in Sri Lanka and then enter the global market by the different trade agreements that my ministry is championing for the country. Lanka Sathosa which has a store equity rating of 3.6 in the mass market segment is the market leader and SME brands must use the retail network to reach the consumer with this credibility.”
Lanka Sathosa Chairman Dr. Rohantha Athukorala said: “We are committed to achieving the Rs. 35 billion target and achieving the operating profit turnaround with such partnerships. The Puttalam Lanka Sathosa outlet we re-launched today will be the new agenda of delivering a better service to the consumer. The brand Sathosa is a power brand and with such partnerships with companies like Nature Secrets we can there by reach the deep rural consumer of Sri Lanka which will help stabilise the cost of living too.”
Lanka Sathosa currently has 310 outlets across the country and is targeting to achieve 500 by end of the year where by further extending the reach to Sri Lankan households than any other supermarket brand in Sri Lanka.
