A high level team from Tata Sons of India, headed by Madhu Kannan, Member of the Tata Group Executive Council and Head of Global Business Development and Public Affairs, yesterday held a discussion with Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage, SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem and senior UDA officials at Waters Edge, Battaramulla.
The intention of this visit by representatives of one of India’s largest industrial and business establishments was to explore ways through which the scope of their investment portfolio in Sri Lanka could be broadened, including in the Urban Development sector.
The other members of the Tata Sons team which met Minister Hakeem were Anil Sardana - CEO and Managing Director, Tata Power, Vernon Noronha - Vice President and Head of Government and Defence Business, Tata Motors, Vinayak Deshpande - CEO and Managing Director, Tata Projects, Suma Venkatesh - Head of Business Development, Indian Hotels Co. Ltd., Pradeep Dhal - Senior Vice President and Head of International Sales, Tata Consulting Engineers, Krishan Varma - Senior Advisor, Tata Sons, Arjun Nohwar - Office of the Chairman, Tata Sons.
Additional Secretary of the Ministry P. Suresh, UDA Director General Nayana Mawilmada and Working Director Kishan Karunaratne were among the participants representing the Urban Development Authority.
