Stephan Anthonisz joined the Softlogic Group as CEO/Director of Softlogic Properties (Pvt.) Ltd. with effect from 1September and will oversee the functions of the Ceysands Resorts Limited which will operate the Centara Ceysands Resort and Spa in Bentota expected to be launched in early 2013. Stephan will also be responsible for the development of the Movenpick City hotel and the resort hotel in Passikudha.
Stephan brings with him almost seven years of experience in the property sector where he last served as CEO/Vice President of the Property Development arm of the Asian Hotels and Properties Ltd. (a subsidiary of John Keells Group). He planned and managed the sales launch of The Monarch and The Emperor at Crescat City.
Both developments with a total of 360 units were pre-sold prior to project completion. He was also responsible for the 70 per cent pre sale success of the ongoing Onthree20 a 3x37 storied, 475 unit semi luxury apartment complex. In addition, he also overlooked the operational management of 85,000ft2 mall space at Crescat Boulevard. During his tenure, he introduced escrow agreements/tripartite loan agreements being a first of its kind in Sri Lanka.
Stephan started his career in the tea industry as a tea taster with John Keells Ltd and also worked with Lipton Ceylon Ltd (Unilever Group) where he was head of Value Added Tea Exports prior to re-joining the John Keells Group. He also did a four year stint in Kenya while working for Lipton as a tea trading manager.
Stephan holds an MBA from Australian Institute of Business Administration, Adelaide, South Australia. He is currently working towards a Doctoral degree reading for DBA from Australian Institute of Business Administration where the thesis is ‘A sales strategy towards successful development of high-rise luxury condominiums in Sri Lanka.’
Stephan is an ardent cricketer. He represented the St. Thomas’ Mt Lavinia first XI team Singhalese Sports Club (SSC) in all premier tournaments from 1982 to 1989 and represented the Sri Lanka B team on tour of Pakistan in1989. He also played for Premier Sports Club, Nairobi Kenya as a professional in 1990/91. Stephan also took oaths as a Justice of Peace (All Island) in year 2002.
