Serendib Flour Mills, manufacturers of Seven Star flour recently launched Sri Lanka’s first-ever specialised cake flour, thereby clinching yet another industry first.

Seven Star cake flour is different to the normal wheat flour available in the market. It is produced using a much softer wheat especially imported from the USA and Canada. Being a softer wheat flour, it makes baking easier, provides softness and an extra volume, has a firmer texture and feels great to taste.

“We’re happy to finally add cake flour to our already rich portfolio of Seven Star flours subsequent to a great demand from our consumers countrywide. Sri Lanka’s cake making industry is thriving and is today not confined to the capital city alone. There is parallely a large market for different flours in the outstations too. This is the ideal solution to thousands of Sri Lankan housewives and makes cake making a more pleasurable and easier task,” Serendib Flour Mills CEO/Director Sathak Abdul Kadar said.

The Seven Star Brand represents seven cardinal values - Purity, Innovation, Quality, Freshness, Expertise, Service and Trust. Since then the company has introduced Baker’s Flour, All-Purpose Flour, Atta Flour, Wholemeal Flour, Semolina, and now, Cake flour, to its growing portfolio of flour products in Sri Lanka.

A member of the Al Ghurair Group of Companies, Dubai, UAE, Serendib Flour Mills Pvt Ltd launched operations in Sri Lanka in June 2008 with the distribution of its Seven Star brand of wheat flour, keeping to its promise of an uninterrupted supply of the freshest wheat flour. It is backed by the leading flour millers in the Middle East, National Flour Mills (llc) of the Al-Ghurair Group.
