Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion Dilan Perera says that the Ministry has found job opportunities next year for 15,000 Sri Lankans in Korea as skilled and semi-skilled labourers.

The Minister said the Government’s focus was on substituting unskilled labour migrations with the skilled and semi-skilled labourers.  The migrant workers in Korea are better paid and the recruitment is handled by the Ministry.

The Ministry of Foreign Employment Promotion holds Korean language competency examinations every year to make the applicants qualify for the jobs.  The Minister said that the Korean language classes had already begun.
