The 14th Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka-Singapore Business Council was held recently at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
Shamil Mendis, Chairman/ Managing Director, Spear International (Pvt) Ltd. was elected as the President of the Council for the year 2011/2012.
Prajeeth Balasubramaniam, Director, Klevenberg (Pvt) Ltd., Upali Bandaranayake, Managing Director, Forbes Services (Pvt) Ltd. and Rohitha Mendis, Managing Director, Prudential Shipping Lines (Pvt) Ltd. were elected as Vice Presidents of the Council.
The following Members were elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Council: A Baur& Company Limited, Bogawantalawa Tea Estates Ltd., Ceylon Grain Elevators Limited, Cyber Soft (Pvt ) Ltd., Mindspring (Pvt) Ltd., Overseas Reality (Ceylon) PLC and Tellida (Pvt) Ltd.
Membership of the council is open to individuals, partnerships, companies, corporations and other organisations engaged in trade, tourism or services with Singapore or engaged in joint ventures with Singaporean organisations or interested in entering into or promoting trade, tourism, services or joint ventures with Singaporean organisations. The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce acts as the Secretariat to the Council.
