Subsequent to the successfully concluded trade and investment promotion mission to Singapore in September 2011 organised by the Sri Lanka-Singapore Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce; the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and Singapore-India Chamber of Commerce (SICCI) in association with the Sri Lanka High Commission in Singapore organised a business delegation to Sri Lanka from the 16-21 October.
The Sri Lanka-Singapore Business Council, with a view to facilitate members to interact with the delegates to make business contact, organised a networking event at the Hilton Colombo Residence recently.
The 14-member delegation was led by SICCI Chairman and Senior Partner of Natarajan and Swaminathan, Rangarajan Narayanamohan.
The delegates represented various sectors including professional and management services, commodity trading, food and beverages, oil and gas, petrochemical and industrial sector, freight, shipping and logistics services, furniture, hospitality, automotive, construction, power generation, agriculture and agro products, mining, marine, offshore services, software development and implementation, to name a few.
Sri Lanka-Singapore Business Council President Shamil Mendis, whilst welcoming the Singapore delegation stated that he was confident they would make useful contacts amongst the Sri Lankan companies bring in more investments and benefit from the potential Sri Lanka has to offer investors.
Narayanamohan speaking on behalf of the delegation briefed the gathering on the objectives of the visiting Singapore delegation and proceeded to invite each of the visiting delegates to introduce themselves and their businesses.
Representatives of over 40 local companies had the opportunity to interact with the members of the delegation and exchange ideas and contact details.
