Sri Lanka is ready to spend US$ 3 to US$ 4 billion over the next five years, to construct the necessary infrastructure needed for the XXI Commonwealth Games (CWG) to be held in 2018.
The Government claimed that all planned competition venues would be developed by 2016, allowing the monies to be spent over a period of time, enabling a comprehensive test event programme before the actual event, which will take the form of XVI South Asian Games scheduled to be held in 2016 in the island.
