Sri Lanka, Pakistan to share expertise in construction industry

Karachi: The builders and developers of Sri Lanka and Pakistan can share their expertise and knowledge to promote the construction industry in both countries, Sri Lanka Consul general in Karachi D.W Jinadasa has said.



Participating in a luncheon meeting held at the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) House on Monday (23), the Consul General has pointed out that joint efforts by the builders and developers of the two countries can play a pivotal role in promoting the construction industry of both countries, according to a statement issued here on Tuesday.

Noting that there has been a considerable increase in the trade between the two countries, the Consul General has recommended the ABAD members to actively participate in the Expo 2012, the international exhibition to be held in Sri Lanka in March.

He has said that the exhibition will provide excellent opportunities to share the expertise and joint ventures.  Presenting an Introdu-ction of the organisation, ABAD Chairman Mohsin Sheikhani has said the trust and brotherly relations between the two countries provide a very solid base to build sound trade relations between Sri Lanka and Pakistan,.

Sheikhani has offered that experienced Pakistani builders and developers can assist the Sri Lankan construction sector with their technical knowledge and expertise.

Speaking on the occasion ABAD Vice Chairman Arif Siddik has said that, “Both the countries are playing their due role at the platform of SAARC and striving hard to make this region economically and socially strong.”
