Sri Lanka China Business Council issues newsletter

The Sri Lanka-China Business Council (SLCHBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce recently launched a newsletter to enhance its communication with the members and other interested stakeholders. The bi-annual newsletter which is sponsored by HSBC and Zam Gems was launched during a special ceremony held in Colombo. In attendance were Navindra Abeysekera, CEO of Lanka Ceramic PLC and President of the SLCHBC, Aruna Perera, Chairman of Synergy Shipping Lanka Ltd. and Head of Member Development and Newsletter Subcommittee of the SLCHBC along with Malika Dias Bandaranayake, Relationship Manager, International HSBC, Sohantha Wijesinghe, Senior Corporate Banking Manager HSBC and Zain Ahamed, Marketing Manager of Zam Gems.

Notably, Malika Dias Bandaranayake of HSBC and Zain Ahamed of Zam Gems are also members of the executive committee of the SLCHBC, and so are closely involved with all the activities of the Council. HSBC’s association with SL-China Business Council is in support of furthering its relationship and network with Chinese businesses in Sri Lanka and beyond. With a global network that covers around 6,900 offices in over 73 countries and territories, and China Desks established in 19 countries including Sri Lanka, HSBC aims to assist Chinese businesses in cross-border trade, investment and financing solutions. Zam Gems is one of Sri Lanka’s largest and most prestigious gems and jewellery manufacturers, priding themselves on authenticity and quality products offered at an affordable price. Their collections are sold in local and international markets, which consist of nine outlets in Sri Lanka and four franchises overseas. The newsletter will be printed and distributed to all the members of the SLCHBC as well as the other Business Councils under the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Beijing and numerous other institutions.
