Sri Lanka-China Business Cooperation Council members to get star awards

Sri Lanka China Business Cooperation Council affiliated to the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka has organised the “SLCBCC Business Star Awards 2011” for the first time in the Council’s 17 year history.

A grand awards presentation ceremony will be held on 26 September at the Galadari Hotel, Colombo. The SLCBCC Business Awards 2011 is specially designed to recognise the performance of the member companies engaged in business activities with China and who have made significant achievements through exemplary business practices. The criteria for evaluation is based on business and financial performance, excellence in product and process innovation, reach in the global market, knowledge integration, technological investment, capital investment towards future growth, implementation of best management practices, successful corporate governance and implementation of corporate social responsibility.

Evaluation will be done on three stages, desk review, interviews and judges’ review, by an independent panel of judges comprising of eminent professionals to ensure the impartiality and transparency. Gold, Silver and Bronze awards will be presented to the winners under four sectors, imports, exports, manufacture and services

The awards presentation will take place at a grand ceremony on 26 September at Galadari Hotel, in the presence of distinguished guests, which will be followed by dinner.  

The principal sponsors of the SLCBCC Business Star Awards 2011 are The Hatton National Bank, Stassens Group of Companies and The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka. In addition, several leading business organisations have come forward as event sponsors. A souvenir to mark the event will be published which will give a brief account of the history and achievements of the Council along with a membership directory. The SLCBCC hopes to make this an annual event in the future and make the participation open to the business community.
