Social Enterprise Lanka will be organising a series of workshops for social entrepreneurs during the months of November (11, 12, 18 and 19) and December (2 and 3) this year. The six workshops are designed to meet the real-life needs of local social entrepreneurs covering topics such as essentials of social enterprise, measuring and reporting impact, bookkeeping and managing cash flow, marketing and sales, legal status and taxation, business planning and impact investment.
These intensive workshops will be held on evenings between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. in Colombo to allow entrepreneurs who are busy during daytime to take part in this valuable opportunity to develop their social businesses.
Lead trainer and Founder of Social Enterprise Lanka, Eranda Ginige said: “These workshops are designed to be very practical. Every workshop will have tangible outcomes for the participants which they can use in their business the very next day. We will be using globally recognised tools such as the Impact Reporting and Investment Standards (IRIS) to help our social entrepreneurs to become on par with international social enterprises. It’s also very hands on because the participants will have to do a lot of work during a short period of time and they have the opportunity to practice their learnings in their day-to-day business throughout the programme. This is useful for all social entrepreneurs at various stages of their business life-cycle, and even for somebody who wants to start a new social enterprise. There are only 25 seats available, so we recommend registering early.”
Social Enterprise Lanka is the apex body for developing a thriving social enterprise sector in Sri Lanka by 2025.
