SLIM won a Merit Award in the ‘Other Services’ category where all the other organisations which didn’t fall under predetermined categories competed.
“To be the only professional body to be recognised at the National Business Excellence Awards 2011 is indeed something to be proud about,” SLIM President Thushara Perera said. “This award epitomises the excellent work done by SLIM throughout the years as a business organisation.”
Describing the award as “a great achievement,” SLIM CEO/Executive Director Sanath Senanayake said that it showed that SLIM had come a long way as the national body in marketing. “We like to share this achievement with all staff, our partners and all stakeholders, who have been with us and supported us throughout the years,” he said.
The annual event organised by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) was held on 30 November, with a view to recognising business enterprises which have demonstrated excellence in business whilst contributing to the economic progress of the country.
