SJMS appoints two new partners

SJMS Associates recently announced the appointment of two new Partners to its firm. Minfaz M. Hilmy (ACA), and Sarala Y. Kodagoda (ACA), who have been associated with the firm for the past several years. Hilmy is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and is a passed finalist of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK. He had the distinction of being the world’s youngest CIMA finalist, aged 19, at the time of his completion of the examination in November 2004.

He has extensive experience in external and internal audits involving diverse business sectors from manufacturing, banking, insurance, finance, transportation, leisure, and healthcare to not-for-profit and other service organisations. He specialises in assisting clients in the convergence of the financial statements to Sri Lanka Financial Reporting Standards (SLFRSs); his SLFRS experience includes providing accounting gap analysis and implementation guidance to various business concerns.

Kodagoda, an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and a passed finalist of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) UK, also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Pune (India). Her involvement in the Tax and Regulatory practice of the firm has given her experience in advising local and multinational clients in planning and developing tax strategies, fulfilling compliance requirements and carrying out tax due diligence assignments.
