Sithie quits JKH Board

Independent Non Executive Director Sithie Tiruchelvam has resigned from the Board of Directors of John Keells Holdings Plc. Her move is in order to devote more time to other personal commitments, JKH said in a statement.

She was appointed to the Board in January 2007. Tiruchelvam, is a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Ceylon, and specialises in corporate law, intellectual property law and labour law. She has obtained her LLB from the University of Ceylon in 1966, and was admitted to the Supreme Court as an Advocate in 1968. She is a Founding Partner of the law firm Tiruchelvam Associates. She has been listed as a leading lawyer in corporate and commercial matters by Chamber Asia Pacific. She currently serves on the board of Central Corporate & Consultancy Services Ltd., and the Nadesan Centre for Human Rights through Law. With the resignation the JKH Board comprises of Susantha Ratnayake (Chairman/CEO), Ajit Gunewardene (Deputy Chairman), Ronnie Peiris, Franklyn Amerasinghe, Tarun Das, Indrajith Coomaraswamy, A.R. Gunasekara and Ashroff Omar.
