Sri Lanka is to play host to the Seaspan Ship Management (Vancouver) officers’ forum for the third time, from 3 to 4 May in collaboration with their manning agents in Sri Lanka, Ceyline Shipping Ltd.
Seaspan Ship Management, a world leading independent container ship-owner, has arranged a multinational, two-day forum at the Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo.
The forum will host delegates from Sri Lanka, India, and Canada and the official theme of the forum this year will be ‘Changing environments; leading through times of change’.
In the past the hosting of the forum has proved to be a boost to Sri Lanka’s maritime industry, the seafarer community and prospective entrants to a career of seafaring and in this time of economic growth and development, an event of this magnitude could further boost the industry and provide more opportunities for the country.

Nalin Peiris said that Seaspan Ship Management provides financial, technical, technical, administrative, and strategic services to their public company Seaspan Corporation which owns a fleet of large, high-quality container ships that are chartered to major shipping lines under long-term, fixed-rate contracts. Seaspan Ship Management recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary and has taken active steps in the reduction of emission pollution by adopting an energy efficiency plan for all its vessels.
