Farmers registering to partner Lanka Sathosa in making available safe fruits and vegetables at the recent exhibition at the BMICH
President Maithripala Sirisena’s vision to have a country that produces safe fruits and vegetables has been driven on ground level activation by Lanka Sathosa by registering all farmers at regional level so that outlets can make available safe vegetables and food, said Dr. Rohantha Athukorala.
“On the instructions of Minister Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathuideen, we will be computerising all outlets and renovating the outlets so that a better shopping experience can be made available to the target consumers,” he added.
Lanka Sathosa is essentially a mass-market driven shopper loyalty retail store chain where pensioners and Government servants are the sole users in the purchasing behaviour as per the latest shopper stretch, said Athukorala.
“The awareness to retention score of 63% means there is very high loyalty. We must now link stronger with the private sector and involve the people like the farmers to make Lanka Sathosa achieve the Rs. 35 billion sales target set for 2016 whilst achieving operating profitability.”
