Ravi K discusses enhancing bilateral ties with Qatar PM

Doha: Qatar’s Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani met Sri Lanka’s Foreign Affairs Minister Ravi Karunanayake, and the accompanying delegation at Al Bahr Palace in Doha on Sunday.

They discussed bilateral relations and means of enhancing them in addition to the latest developments in the region, the official Qatar News Agency said.

The meeting reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing and promoting them in all fields, especially in political areas and economic partnership.

Talks also dealt with the latest regional and international developments, mainly the Gulf crisis. Minister Karunanayake has stressed Sri Lanka’s stance to resolve the crisis through constructive dialogue.

Minister Ravi Karunanayake also met with the Foreign Minister of Qatar Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani for discussions. The talks focused on ways to enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries in addition to issues of common concern. Foreign Minister al-Thani briefed his Lankan counterpart on the latest developments in the Gulf crisis and the illegal measures taken against Qatar.
