A presentation on ‘Bilateral Trade between Sri Lanka and Netherlands’ organised by The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will be made on Tuesday 24 July from 3.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. at the Chamber Auditorium, No. 450 D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10.
The special Guest is Ambassador of the Kingdom of Royal Netherlands L.M.W. Piet who will be accompanied by Deputy Ambassador and Bas Van Noordenne and First Secretary of the Netherlands Embassy Jaco Beerends.
They will speak on the current business trend, trade potential, opportunities for export, import, investment and other opportunities available in the Netherlands for Sri Lankan business community. The Netherlands has many years of strong economic ties with Sri Lanka. In 2011 bilateral trade between The Netherlands and Sri Lanka exceeded US$ 300 million which is higher than that of the previous year.
Sri Lanka mainly imports sugar and confectionery, beverages, tobacco, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, electrical machinery and agricultural products from the Netherlands while we export garments, rubber finished products, tea, fish products etc. to the Netherlands. A number of large Dutch companies are becoming active in Sri Lanka and have invested in garment industry, in tobacco processing, trailer manufacturing, and hospitals and in hotels.
Participants will also have an opportunity to interact with the Embassy officials and get first hand information on business related issues in doing business with the Netherlands.
