CEMS-Global – Conference and Exhibition Management Services Ltd. – USA and CEMS Lanka, the multinational exhibition organiser since 1992, with its operations in eight countries and organising over 40 exhibitions per annum, opened its premier international ‘Power’ series of exhibitions in Sri Lanka yesterday.
The ‘14th Power Sri Lanka 2016 International Expo’ is focused on the development of power generation and transmission, alternative power, solar power, energy and renewable energy sectors of Sri Lanka while the ‘Con-Expo Sri Lanka 2016 Int’l Expo’ is an international exhibition for construction materials, method and equipment.
The exhibitions are being held from yesterday until tomorrow, 25 March, at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC), Colombo.
On the same dates, concurrent exhibitions are also being held, namely, the 12th Renewable Energy Sri Lanka 2016 Int’l Expo and the 9th Solar Sri Lanka 2016 Int’l Expo. The show will be open for trade and business visitors from 23-25 March from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and entry on registration at the expo venue.
With the above exhibitions in one go, it is a comprehensive exhibition focused not only on the entire power and energy sector of Sri Lanka but also caters to the needs of power and energy and construction for the entire industry sector of the country.
CEMS-Global’s ‘Power’ series of exhibitions is an international branded series focused on South and South-East Asia and is held annually in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and the Con-Expo series of exhibitions is held in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
‘Con-Expo Sri Lanka 2016 Int’l Expo’ is a glittering showcase of construction materials, method and equipment. It reveals to the country the rapid developments in the industry as well as new technology components. The neat layouts of the show provides an ample opportunity to the consumers of housing to see the latest offerings in the market as well as to the business visitor to carry out networking in a highly-enabled environment. The Con-Expo is therefore not only a networking ground, but also a place to find business partners and strategic alliances for manufacturing, outsourcing, sub-contracting, design and development as well as direct marketing.

This exhibition brings together under one roof all stakeholders in the power and energy industry under one B2B platform and a significant leap can be taken in Sri Lanka’s power and energy sector by close interaction between the exhibitors of the exhibition from over 10 countries and the local entrepreneurs leading to successful partnerships and joint ventures to accomplish the Government’s vision of fulfillment of people’s aspirations and successfully facing the challenges of the sector.
The special guests present at the opening ceremony were Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority Deputy Director General M.M.R. Pathmasiri, CEMS-Global-USA & Asia Pacific Group CEO S.S. Sarwar and CEMS Lanka Country Director EjazSarwar.
Besides exhibitors from over 10 countries, there will also be visitors coming to Sri Lanka from different parts of the world visiting the 14th Power Sri Lanka 2016 International Expo to familiarise themselves with the power and energy sector of Sri Lanka and see the investment climate where the Government is encouraging foreign investments in the power and energy sector.
