Nippon Paints Lanka, one of the island’s largest paint manufacturers, was adjudged the Gold Award Winner at the recently held National Business Excellence Awards (NBEA) 2016, an annual competition conducted by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) to recognise local business enterprises for their excellence.
They also aim to encourage Sri Lankan organisations to position the country as one that has excellently managed organisations which make it attractive for joint ventures, investments, and as a source for products and services.

Nippon Paint was recognised in two specific areas and secured the two Gold awards in the Large Category and the Manufacturing category. The evaluation criteria and model consisted of eight perspectives: Leadership, Corporate Governance, Capacity Building, Performance Management, Local and Global Market Reach, Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Sustainability, and Business and Financial Results.

Winning awards is something that Nippon Paint has learnt to take in its stride. The company also won the ‘Business Star Awards’ in November 2016 awarded by the Sri Lanka China Business Cooperation Council (SLCBCC) for the sixth consecutive time. The award encourages and stimulates best business practices for achievement of higher productivity and competitiveness and provides recognition to businesses making continuous efforts to improve their management and operational practices.
