New Chairman appointed to David Pieris Motor Company

Effective 1 April, Shyamal Mendis was appointed Executive Director and designated as Chairman David Pieris Motor Company Ltd., David Pieris Motor Company (Lanka) Ltd. and David Pieris Automobiles Ltd. Mendis succeeds Sumith Cumaranatunga who has retired. 

Mendis’ association with the company is not new, having worked at David Pieris Motor Company Ltd. (DPMC) from 1994 to 1998. He was appointed Non–Executive Director of DPMC and DP Logistics Ltd. in August 2015.

He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) of the United Kingdom. He is also the Chairman and Managing Director of SasiaNet Ltd., an independent software services provider for the financial services industry.
