Nestlé has been ranked the number 1 F&B company in LMD’s Most Respected Entities ranking for 2016.

Declared ‘Sector Winner’ in the food and beverage category, the company has moved up 11 places from last year to achieve an overall ranking of eleventh place across all industries.

“With a strong 110 year heritage in Sri Lanka, we take pride in our strong bond with the local community and our contribution as a ‘local multinational’. We consider it an honour and a privilege to be recognised for our work in a number of key areas, and look forward to continuing to deliver the best local products and services at the world class standards Nestlé is renowned for,” said Nestlé Managing Director Shivani Hegde.

Nestlé is the world’s leading Nutrition, Health and Wellness company and largest food and beverage company. It celebrates 150 years of operations globally this year, as well as 110 years in Sri Lanka. Its local portfolio consists of some of the nation’s most loved brands, including Nestomalt, Milo, Maggi, Milkmaid, Nespray and Nescafé. It has the largest food and nutrition research organization in the world, and manufactures over 90% of the Nestlé products sold in Sri Lanka at its state-of-the-art factory in Kurunegala.

The company is the third most valuable company on the Colombo Stock Exchange, and is also Sri Lanka’s largest private sector collector of fresh milk, and one of the world’s largest exporters of coconut milk powder; positively impacting the livelihoods of over 23,000 local farming families.
