Nestlé Lanka was awarded the Swarnadeepa Award 2012 for the companys significant contribution to Sri Lankas agricultural sector via sourcing and procurement, training and development of farmers, infrastructure investment and micro-financing assistance.
The award was presented to Nestlé Lanka PLC Managing Director Ganesan Ampalavanar, by Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province and former Parliament Speaker W. J.M. Lokubandara.
The Swarnadeepa Award 2012 is a symbol of recognition and appreciation extended to Nestlé Lanka for positively impacting the rural economy through its contribution to the local dairy industry for over three decades.
Organised by the Nidahas Lanka Mass Communicators Association, the Swarnadeepa Awards pays tribute to individuals and organisations that have contributed to the wellbeing of the country.
