Keeping in line with the construction boom currently seen and growing demand in Sri Lanka, Nawaloka Piling Ltd., the leader in the piling industry, is gearing up to meet the demand by procuring two new boring machines BG 24 and BG 28 from Bauer, Germany costing 2.5 million euros this month.
Nawaloka commenced piling work in 1993 under Nawaloka Construction Company Ltd. In 2004, a new company was floated within the Nawaloka Group, named Nawaloka Piling Ltd.
Nawaloka Piling an ISO certified company has seven BG machines and three MAIT machines, and now with the addition of the two new machines, there will be nine BG machines and a total fleet of 12 boring machines. Bauer Technology is the most advanced and up-to-date in the field of boring. Nawaloka Piling’s major external clients include MAGA Engineering, ICC, Tudawe Brothers.
Nawaloka Piling received the ICTAD Construction Excellence Award in 2005 and 2007 and was graded by ICTAD in 2011 as GP-B1, the highest grade for piling.
It has carried out piling work for several high-rise buildings such as Ceylinco Celestial Residencies (now proposed Hyatt Hotel), Ceylinco Trillium, Empire City, Dawson Grand Tower, Waters Edge Residencies, Fairway Sky Garden Residencies, Unilever factory at Horana, Kelanithissa power plant, Kerawalepitiya power plant as well as piling work for sewerage pumping stations, bridges and several other projects.
Nawaloka Piling is the pioneer in secant piling in Sri Lanka as well and is currently working on the Government Personnel Identification Office building in Battaramulla, Jetwing hotels, the National Center for Non-Destructive Testing at Wedamulla, a bottling plant for Lion Brewery Ceylon Limited, the Defence Headquarters at Akuregoda, the Maga Head Office and several other projects.
There is ongoing negotiation for work on several major Government projects and private sector high-rise buildings.
Nawaloka Piling has now tied up with a structural and designing engineering company and is now able to provide a total solution for substructure construction.
It is in the process of achieving the OHSAS 18001:2007 certification from the current ISO 9001:2008, thus further assuring their services as safe, reliable and of perfect quality, meeting customer satisfaction.
The Nawaloka Group of companies was founded in 1945 by the Late Deshamanya H.K. Dharmadasa, a pioneer businessman. The Nawaloka Group of Companies is now headed by Upali Dharmadasa.
