The inaugural ceremony of the National Management Conference 2016 organised by the Institute of Management of Sri Lanka (IMSL) was held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the Galadari Hotel yesterday.
This year’s Conference is being held under the theme ‘Resolving Contemporary Management Challenges’. The IMSL is the national apex body in the field of professional management in Sri Lanka, dedicated to promoting professional management in the country. IMSL was inaugurated on 31 July 1986 and was incorporated by Act of Parliament No. 67 on 17 December 1988. Today, IMSL is a full member of the Asian Association of Management Organizations (AAMO), as Sri Lanka’s sole representative in AAMO. At present, the IMSL consists of 1,300 members and various professionals and war heroes are among its members. The National Management Conference is an annual event organised by the Institute of Management of Sri Lanka (IMSL) with the key objective of facilitating informed discussion and consultation on a contemporary management topic of national interest. The National Management Conference 2016 will bring together management practitioners, professionals, academics, students and leaders from the public and corporate sector to a common platform of sharing and learning, through the Conference theme.
Minister of Public Enterprises Development Eran Wickramaratne, the members of the Institute of Management of Sri Lanka including its President Maj. Gen. Upul Perera and many others participated in this event.
