National chamber seminar on bilateral trade with Korea

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will hold a seminar on ‘Bilateral Trade between Korea and Sri Lanka’ on 2 December from 3p.m to 4.30p.m at the Chamber Auditorium, No. 450 D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo 10.



The special Guest will be Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Sri Lanka Jongmoon Choi who will be assisted by D.W. Lee, Director General of KOTRA (Commercial Section of the Embassy) They will address the participants on the current business trend, trade potential, opportunities for export, import, investment and other services for Sri Lankans in Korea.

Participants will also have an opportunity to interact with the officials of the Embassy to get first hand information on any trade and business related issues in doing business with Korea. Presently Sri Lanka exports apparels, textiles, yarn, electrical and electronics, plastic, rubber products, chemicals, steel, ceramics, ornamentals, toys to Korea.

Sri Lankan imports from South Korea are: boilers and machinery parts, iron/steel articles, knitted or crocheted fabrics, light-vessels, cotton woven fabrics, motor vehicles, electrical machinery and equipment.

Sectors that can be identified for business collaboration between the two countries are: canned fruit and juices, rubber products, desiccated coconut, fibre and fibre based products, activated carbon, floriculture products, coloured gem stones and diamonds, minerals, garments.
