Mercantile Fortunes wins award for most innovative and informative stall

The prestigious Award for The Most Innovative and Informative Stall at the recently concluded Sri Lanka Institute of Architects Annual Sessions 2012 was awarded to Mercantile Fortunes (Pvt) Ltd – the flooring company of repute, who emerged victorious from amongst a multitude of stalls displaying a wide variety of products such as furniture, carpeting, paints, roofing, tilling, doors and windows, home appliances, electronics, electrical, sanitary wares steel and aluminium fabricators, Interior decorators and several local and international companies etc.

Just as the award’s name implies, Mercantile Fortunes (a subsidiary of Mercantile Investments and Finance PLC) presented a stall which was innovative in appearance, simple in construction, informative in content and educative in display.

The innovativeness was witnessed in the simple but elegant and novel entrance, along with sufficient space provided within for easy movement of people to take in the relevant display items.

The informative aspect of the stall was entrenched within, with relevant information about the usage of different types of flooring in specific areas such as indoors or outdoors etc. These information clearly stated whether a particular type of flooring was ideally suited or not for that specific area, detailing both the good and the bad side of such installations, to be seen and understand.

The award has been presented to Mercantile Fortunes at the most opportune time when Sri Lanka’s construction industry is enjoying a boom. Accordingly, deviating from their previous 13 years practice of displaying only wooden flooring, this year there were an exciting variety of flooring including a range wooden flooring, composite marble flooring, natural marble flooring and Travertine etc.
