Sachin Ambekar, Leo Burnett Solutions Inc.’s Chief Creative Officer joins ADFEST 2012 as a member of the Jury for ‘Outdoor Lotus’. ADFEST also known as the Cannes of Asia is the oldest advertising festival in Asia Pacific and is held annually in Pattaya, Thailand. The 15th edition of ADFEST will be on from 18 to 20 March this year.
Ambekar has been honoured to serve on a jury which comprises of a distinguished panel headed by Merlee Jayme, Chairman/Chief Creative Officer, DM9 JaymeSyfu, Manila, and includes other industry leaders.
“ADFEST is the first Asian award show in the year. This is the place where we see the latest work that’s been produced and not entered in to any other award shows. We will also see the potential big award winners in 2012 in this show and new, emerging trends in the market. I am looking forward to meeting with the region’s creative leaders at ADFEST this year,” said Ambekar.
Ambekar has previously been a part of the Grand Jury at the prestigious New York Advertising Festival in 2010 and has served on several other local juries.
Commenting on the category he will be judging at ADFEST, Ambekar said: “In the past few years we have seen some new countries showing their talent in the awards shows like never before – making the competition even more intense and interesting. I am sure there will be a few new countries that will surprise the region this year as well… I am expecting to see some great public service campaigns this year as we all know the region has witnessed some of the worst natural disasters last year. I am also hopeful that Sri Lanka will make its mark at the festival this year.”
Ambekar has created award-winning work, winning multiple metals in all the main international award shows including Cannes Lions, One Show, D&AD, Clio, NY Fest, LIA, ADFEST, AWARD
and Spikes Asia. He has also been ranked as one of the region’s top Creative Directors.
