The Sri Lanka – Korea Economic Co-operation Committee of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be organising a networking event on 30 January at Hilton Colombo Residence. The Keynote speech will be delivered by Weon Cheol Koh, the New Director General of KOTRA under the topic ‘Korean Trade System and Business Support available at KOTRA’. KOTRA is an international agency which has an extensive worldwide network of 94 Korea business centres in 69 countries. It facilitates international trade, promotes foreign investment and promotes overseas investment of Korean Enterprise. The growing economy of Sri Lanka has embarked on providing many opportunities to Korean investors in the Sri Lankan market. During 2013, there was a drastic increase in the total number of Korean travellers who arrived in Sri Lanka. And with the commencement of direct flights by Korean Air between Colombo and Seoul along with trade opportunities it’s hoped that export volumes to Korea will have a possible growth.
