Kia’s Sri Lanka distributor wins award for ‘Most Improved’ in Asia Pacific

Kia Motors (Lanka), the sole distributor in Sri Lanka for the Korean automobile brand, has been presented with an award for the ‘Most Improved’ in the region at the 2014 Asia – Pacific Parts Conference of MOBIS – the spare parts division of the Kia-Hyundai Group. The award, which recognises ‘Outstanding Performance & Achievement,’ was presented by MOBIS CEO Myung-Chul Chung to Kia Motors (Lanka) Parts Manager Saman Peiris at the conference in Thailand. This is the second award won by the company from its principal in the past 13 months. In May 2013, Kia Motors (Lanka) was adjudged Kia’s ‘Distributor of Distinction’ in acknowledgement of ‘Professionalism of the Highest Degree and Outstanding Sales Performance in the Asia Region.’

“Kia sales have grown phenomenally in Sri Lanka over the past three years, so it is logical that imports of spare parts would also grow at a faster pace,” said Kia Motors (Lanka) Ltd Managing Director MahenThambiah. “Nevertheless, it takes a lot to win recognition in a region with several very much larger markets.
