Kalubowitiyana Tea Factory situated in the Galle District which manufactures quality CTC Tea which is highly sought after by the trade and fetches premium prices comparable to the best CTC prices globally. At this week’s Tea Auctions too a line of BP1 grade equalled the All-time Record Price of

Rs. 510 per kilogram. This line of Tea was purchased by Hyson Tea Ltd. and the sale was conducted by Forbes & Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. Kalubowitiyana Tea Factory is owned and managed by Kalubowitiyana Tea Factory Ltd., which is a fully government owned organisation coming under the purview of the Ministry of Plantation Industries.
