Indian universities, colleges and international schools will gather under one roof in an educational fair in the coming days with the view of showcasing the wide array of opportunities India has to offer in the field of education.

Strong university network, global recognition, quality and competitiveness of education and its cost effectiveness all contribute to India posing as a popular destination for a Sri Lankan student. Geographical location of the continent no doubt will also add to a “home, away from home” feeling to any student.

EdCIL India Limited, that has brought all the establishments under one roof points out that at least 1500 travel to India from the over all of around 10,000 that travel overseas for education, adding that, this without any marketing attempt by the Indian universities or colleges.  EdCIL has been backed by the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka to organise this education fair in order to add value and to approve and affirm that these institutes and colleges are indeed accredited and genuine says Dinesh Udenia, Education Secretary at the Indian High Commission in Colombo.

Udenia further noted that edCIL has been approved by the Colombo mission to hold such an event due its credibility, being a Government of India Company.

The fair is organised by the Educational Consultants India Limited (EdCIL) and is supported and duly endorsed by the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka. As professional exhibition organisers, Lanka Exhibition & Conference Services [LECS], pioneers in organising similar events here and abroad, are organising this Education Fair which will run from 13 -15 May 2011 at the BMICH while it will be held in Jaffna on 17 and 18 May 2011 at the Jaffna Library.
