The preliminary rewards presentation for the winners of the ‘Hutch Abisheka Reload Senakeliya’ promotion 2010 was held recently at the Company’s Head Office in Colombo.

Over 160 lucky Hutch customers became winners of valuable prizes from Hutch in the month of September. A few of them received their prizes at the ceremony held at the company premises recently.

Customers and retailers from Anuradhapura, Panadura, Negombo, Dematagoda, Kotte and Colombo walked away with a flat screen TV, gas cooker, mobile phones and two air tickets to Bangkok with three nights’ accommodation for two and several other prizes which were presented by the General Manager Finance Priyana Gunasekara.

Commenting on the program General Manager Marketing, Sanjaya Senarath said: “The Hutch Abisheka Reload Senakeliya is an extension of Hutch Abisheka which was initially introduced by the Company to recognise our retailer network. The competition was extended to our customers and dealers after receiving a great amount of positive retailer feedback about this one of a kind rewards scheme.” W.A.P. Vincent Fernando of Panadura who is a carpenter by profession, said since his work requires him to travel extensively, the Hutch connection helps him to keep in touch with his family at an affordable price. Fernando stated that he never dreamt of winning a flat screen TV just by topping up his Hutch account with Rs. 200 regularly considering he has been on the network for only a short time of six months.

Sisira Kumara Ekanayake of Anuradhapura and Kumuduni Navodya of Kotte also walked away as winners of gold coins. Ekanayake whose home town is Vavuniya currently resides in Anuradhapura due to his work with the Railways Department. He reflected on how he used his Hutch connection to communicate with his family during the years of the civil war.

“My Hutch connection was the only source of communication for us when my brother was disabled due to a terrorist attack in Vavuniya. I constantly kept in touch to check on his condition from time to time.”

“Since I began using Hutch I have also been able to make a 40% saving on my domestic budget. Ekanayake’s win has affirmed his determination to stay on the network more than ever as it gives him coverage in areas where it mattered most.”

The retailer to emerge winner in the month of September was D.N.S Jayasinghe, owner of Newlink Communications Angoda, who walked away with two air tickets to Bangkok.

Joyful about winning a trip overseas he said that he has been with Hutch since 1996 and the knowledge he has regarding the packages offered by the company makes it easier for him to educate customers about the best deals as and when they are offered by Hutch. He says it has helped him grow as a businessman and also won him such great dividends from the company.

On another note Dealer Sales Representative, Amal Sisira Kumara was rewarded with an Acer Laptop for being the overall best in his field. Kumara says that achieving this was not an easy feat as it was not done without fierce competition from his colleagues in the Colpetty, Armour Street areas. However, Kumara says he was determined to win the Laptop for himself, and is thankful to his 90 odd retailers who made the win possible. The competition officially commenced on 1 September and will continue till 31 December 2010. With every reload of Rs. 200, Hutch customers earn themselves a chance to become a winner within the four months of the promotion. The luckiest of them all will become the winner of a brand new SUV at the grand draw.
