Haycolour wins Gold award

Haycolour Pvt. Ltd. the leading pigment emulsion manufacturer in Sri Lanka for the region’s textile printing industry, was awarded Gold in the large industry sector, at the recently concluded National Export Awards presentation of the National Chamber of Exporters (NEC) of Sri Lanka.  

The company received a Bronze award last year, the first time it participated in the awards programme.

 “We are honoured by this award,” said Channaka de Silva, Director Haycolour Sri Lanka, commenting on this latest accolade. “We have been able to overcome stiff competition in the regional market, from multinational chemical manufacturers in India, China, Korea and Taiwan due to our strength — consistency in quality. This award represents an important recognition of our progress.”

Haycolour pigments which are also used in Latex, inks and water based paints have already been certified with an ‘Eco passport’ by the reputed Hohenstein Institute Germany. Haycolour is the only local company in the industry to receive this certification.

The certification benefits local suppliers who apply for Okeo Tex 100 certification, as there is no need to test Haycolour’s pigments for compliance, the company said. Eco passport is the worldwide certification on the chemical compliance of production of human ecological optimised textiles, certifying products that do not endanger the environment or the people.  

The pigment emulsions manufactured by Haycolour are also certified for use on baby garments.

A member of the Hayleys Group, Haycolour was initially launched with the intention of supplying pigment emulsions for the local textile industry. The company now exports pigment emulsions to countries like Bangladesh, Thailand and Malaysia. Haycolour provides total solutions to local textile manufacturers who cater to the global market. The services of the company include all products required for t-shirt  printing industry with different types of rubber pastes for cotton, cotton blends and nylon fabrics, glitter, flocks discharge paste, crack binders, foils, 3D and special effect chemicals.
