The CEO of Polymath Consulting David Parker will be in Colombo to conduct a one-day training course on ‘Pre-Paid Cards – The Undiscovered Opportunity’ on Tuesday, 30 October 2012, organised in partnership with ‘The Knowledge Conglomerate’ and powered by MTI Consulting.
David Parker is the founder and CEO of Polymath Consulting who works on projects and advises organisations across the cards and payments industry. Polymath Consulting is particularly well known for their work on prepaid cards, e-wallets and mobile payments.
They work across the complete value chain, helping banks with their overall prepaid strategy right through to market entry analysis, as well as working with processors and program managers on segment analysis, certification and membership applications.
For brands and telcos, they also assist in product proposition development as well as managing RFP processes and reviewing existing contract relationships for both open and closed loop schemes. Geographically, their client assignments have covered Russia, South Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
This hands on case study based workshop will allow participants to work through to create prepaid programs and deal with real business issues. Each participant will also leave with an ‘action plan,’ completed in confidence relevant to their own banks’ needs, plans etc.
Parker has forecasted that pre-paid payment cards in Sri Lanka will soon see explosive growth. With over 70% of the Sri Lankan population owning a mobile and over 80% of those being pre-paid, there is a clear opportunity in Sri Lanka, as well as a strong understanding of the pre-paid concept.
Parker went on to say that Sri Lanka is a unique market as it has a strong POS and ATM infrastructure and yet an un-banked population of 70%.
The opportunity for pre-paid cards to drive forward the financial inclusion agenda is huge. They can be used for many things from benefit payments to Person2Person payments when combined with mobile enablement. This highly experiential workshop will be held at the Galadari Hotel from 8.30 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. on 30 October 2012. The course fee is Rs. 14,500.00 (inclusive of tax), inclusive of refreshment, lunch and course materials. Registrations can be made by emailing [email protected] or by calling 0115869514.
