Filing a further investigations report in Court in connection with the Ceylinco F&G Real Estate case, the CID told that the written statements of the depositors and company directors had been sent to Attorney General for his advice.
Meanwhile, the CID further informed Court that on an order issued by Court, KPMG Ford Rhodes Thornton & Co. had begun an audit in connection with F&G Real Estate (Pvt) Ltd. and the final report had not been received yet.
The CID further informed Court that as an initial step to indict the suspects in a High Court, they were currently collecting the original copies of the deposit certificates belonging to the depositors.
When the case pertaining to the matter came up before Colombo Fort Magistrate Kanishka Wijeratne, the eight suspects including the former Ceylinco Chairman Lalith Kotelawala were present in Court. The ninth suspect Sicille Kotelawala is currently absconding Court.
In this case nine Directors of F&G Real Estate had allegedly defrauded Rs. 3.9 billion while serving as Company Directors
