The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) is currently receiving feedback, suggestions and alternative proposals on the CEB’s proposed electricity tariff revision for 2013 from the general public and experts. These submissions are presently being assessed by the Commission and planned to publish a report once the proceedings of the consultation is finalised.
The proposed electricity tariff revision for 2013 was announced on 12 March 2013 by the Commission and written submissions were requested from the general public and experts in this regard.
The deadline for such written submissions is 28 March 2013 and these should be submitted through email, fax or post to the PUCSL. The consultation document and other relevant information to be referred in this regard can also be accessed from the Commission website www.pucsl.gov.lk.
Respective stakeholders will be given the opportunity to make presentations at the final stage of the consultation scheduled for 4 April 2013, at the main auditorium (SANHIDA) of the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLlDA) located at Malasekara Mawatha, Colombo 7 from 9 a.m. onwards. Any party or parties of persons wishing to make oral presentations at this public consultation are invited to indicate their desire to do so in their written submissions to the Commission. Further, any stakeholder (this includes the general public) wishing to make a presentation on 4 April, without a prior written submission could also do so, by registering with the PUCSL.
