Farm employees recognised at Rewards Nite

CIC Seeds, the largest seed and planting material producer in the island, appreciated and rewarded its employees at the Annual Rewards Nite that was held at its Agri Holiday Resort in Hingurakgoda recently.

CIC Seeds manages the operations of its three farms at Dambulla, Hingurakgoda and Talawa and is involved in the production of seed paddy, vegetable seeds and planting material in addition to livestock products.

The Chief Guest at the occasion, Chairman of CIC Holdings PLC B.R.L. Fernando commended the management and staff for their invaluable contribution over the years, which has enabled the company to increase its productivity by 300% and dominate the seed paddy market with a majority stake.

Fernando also went on to urge the employees to continue in the same vein and increase productivity further, in a bid to contribute more towards the development of agriculture in Sri Lanka. Thirty employees were appreciated and rewarded for their contribution towards the growth of the organisation while 13 of them were given the opportunity to travel overseas to further enhance their agricultural knowledge.

Field Officer Nilantha Jayewardene was adjudged as the ‘Employee of the Year’ and received his award from Fernando in the presence of MD/CEO CIC Agri Businesses Keerthi Kotagama, CEO of CIC Seeds Waruna Madawanarachchi and other employees who were present at the occasion.
