The consumer promotion that caused tremendous excitement and anticipation amongst its predominantly young consumers, Elephant House Stick Eke Luck Eka, drew to a close recently. A record number of entries which exceeded 100,000 made this the most successful ice cream promotion ever held in Sri Lanka. The Grand Draw was held on 10 October at Elephant House where a range of attractive prizes were awarded to thirty lucky winners. This two month consumer promotion was centred around the stick variants in the Elephant House ice cream range, Wonder Bar, 2Bar and Jumbo Jolly. The Grand Draw prizes included 12 mountain bikes, 6 digital cameras, 6 Sony Play Stations and 6 Samsung Galaxy phones. The winners, a large number of them kids and teenagers, will receive their prizes at a special ceremony to be held on 15 October. Elephant House as a brand has become a trendsetter where innovations are concerned. Whether it is in terms of new products and flavours, or exciting consumer promotions, they have made it their business to richly reward consumers along the way. This was most apparent during the Stick Eke Luck Eka consumer promotion’s two month period which saw over 700,000 free 2Bar and Jumbo Jolly ice creams being won on a daily basis as instant prizes in addition to the prizes given away at the two draws. Commenting on the success of this consumer promotion, Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (Elephant House) Head of Frozen Confectionery and John Keells Holdings PLC Vice President Neil Samarasinghe said, “Elephant House is proud to have conducted a draw such as this which elicited a record number of entries whilst rewarding our loyal consumers, most of whom were kids, giving us the added satisfaction of knowing that we successfully reached the core consumer group of the ‘stick’ variants.”
