Last month’s MOU signings between the EFC and two regional chambers in Hambantota and Jaffna has created great interest amongst regional business communities.
Eager to reciprocate this interest and ever keen to “walk it’s talk,” a senior team from the EFC will be heading to Hambantota this Saturday 12 November to meet with the District Chamber of Commerce and key businesses in the area.
As an area of the island endowed with vast natural resources and significant human capital, Hambantota is a key commercial hub.
It is also a region - according to the Director of the Hambantota’s Chamber of Commerce Suresh De Mel - that is greatly in need of the EFC’s advisory services on business development and formalisation.
With this in mind, EFC Director General Ravi Peiris and Deputy Director General Kanishka Weerasinghe will be introducing a series of workshops on good employment and business practices to the regions.
For the Hambantota workshop they will be accompanied by the EFC’s Vice Chairman and award winning specialist in the area of business productivity, Sunil Wijesinha, whose promotion of productivity in Sri Lanka and the Asia Pacific region has been recognised by the Asian Productivity Association.
