Discussion on ‘Bilateral Trade between Sri Lanka and Thailand’

A presentation/discussion on ‘Bilateral Trade between Sri Lanka and Thailand’ organised by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will be made on Thursday 6 September 2012 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Chamber Auditorium, No. 450 D.R. Wijewardena Mw, Colombo 10.

The Special Guest will be Poldej Worachat of the Royal Thailand Embassy, accompanied by Chavalit Rojjanaprapayon, Director of Thai Trade Centre of Chennai and Sakchai Luangsathikul, Investment Promotion Officer, Senior Professional Level, BOI of Thailand.

They will speak on the current business trend, trade potential, opportunities for export, import, investment and other opportunities available in Thailand for the Sri Lankan business community. Further the members will have an opportunity to speak with the officials of the Embassy and get firsthand information on matters of bilateral trade.

According to statistics there has been an increase in the volume of our two-way trade and over the past two years, more Thai investors have displayed interest in investing in Sri Lanka. More business groups have made visits to Sri Lanka to look for investment opportunities. There are opportunities in the area of agriculture, fisheries, tourism and education in Sri Lanka.
