Veteran stock broker Dimuthu Abeysekera has been appointed as Chairman of Kalamazoo Systems Plc, recently acquired by business leader Nimal Perera.
Appointment of Dimuthu, who is the CEO of Asha Phillip Securities Ltd., comes along with five others to the Board of Kalamazoo Systems Plc with effect from 15 December.
The other five directors are Samantha Bandara Dodanwela (Executive Director), M.G. Chaminda Senaviratne (Executive Director), C.M.U. Weerawardena (Independent Non Executive Director), Haresh Somashantha (Non Executive Director) and D. J. Silva (Non Executive Director).
The appointments were made following the resignation of W.N.S. Canagaratnam (Chairman/Managing Director), J. P. S. Ratnannather, L.C.G. Ratnannather, M.M. Marzookand and alternate director to J.P.S. Ratnanather - J.A.S. Ratnasabapathy. Following the changes the new Board of Directors of Kalamazoo Systems Plc comprises of Dimuthu Abeysekera (Chairman), S.B. Dodanwela, M.G.C. Senaviratne, P.S. Rajiv Casie Chitty, C.M.U. Weerawardena, H. Somashantha and D.J. Silva. In September Nimal Perera bought a 67% stake amounting to 33,489 shares of Kalamazoo for Rs. 36 million. Following the mandatory offer, Nimal’s stake rose to 69.3%.
