Azilen Technologies, the firm reputed for pioneering restaurant food menus to mobile handset based ‘e-menus’ in Asia, is now mulling Sri Lanka entry.

“We have established among the top five software firms in food menu automation. We are looking for initial entry in Sri Lanka in the form of a sales link after which we are looking to partner as a JV with a willing local tech firm,” revealed Ashish Patel, Executive Director of Azilen Technologies yesterday.

The $ 7 m Azilen Technologies is moving for leadership in Russia and Brazil in the restaurant menu segment.

“Azilen’s e-menus are usable in android tablets and Windows-based handhelds and we have now prepared our first modules for Apple iPads as well. Among hotel chains using Azilen’s e-menus are the Taj Group, Holiday Inn (in Europe and Saudi Arabia), Pizza Hut (India and Latin America) and Australian coffee chain Gloria Jeans. We have just commenced our technical support centre in Belgium for EU customers,” revealed Patel.

“Once we have a key customer base of more than five in Sri Lanka, we will come in with initial $ 500,000 in the first 18 months. We will focus on a joint venture with a local firm thereafter.”
