DFCC Vardhana Bank introduces new remittance service: Lanka Money Transfer

DFCC Vardhana Bank (DVB), Sri Lanka’s fastest growing commercial bank recently launched the Lanka Money Transfer (LMT) service in November 2014. This new remittance service allows customers to transfer and receive money with ease, using only the banks that they trust. The LMT service was introduced at an event attended by P. Samarasiri, Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Lakshman Silva, CEO, DFCC Vardhana Bank, Arjun Fernando, CEO, DFCC Bank and senior management of the LMT partner banks. In order to facilitate the new LMT service, DVB partnered with a network of leading banks including the Regional Development Bank, Lanka Orix Finance PLC, HDFC Bank, Sanasa Bank, Amãna Bank and Union Bank PLC. The new LMT service further strengthens the country’s remittance mechanism and provides Sri Lankans living abroad and their families with a trusted option for transferring and receiving money. DVB is the first Sri Lankan bank and one of the first in the world to partner with other banks to introduce a remittance money transferring mechanism in Sri Lanka.
