The food and beverage giant that promises ‘Good Food, Good Life’ was awarded Silver and Bronze main category awards and was also honoured with a ‘CNCI Top 10’ award as a special award which recognised ten of the country’s leading companies who have made outstanding contributions towards commercial growth and creative thinking.

“We are thrilled and honoured to be awarded the highest number of awards at the CNCI Achievers Awards 2011.

As a first time applicant and the only multinational to be honoured at top level, we are proud to be recognised for our efforts to ‘Create Shared Value’ in industrial excellence for both Nestlé and the country,” Nestle Lanka Managing Director Alois Hofbauer said.

The CNCI “Achievers of Industrial Excellence” Award is held on an annual basis to recognise businesses that have excelled in manufacturing or service and promoted local industrial growth. It is organised by the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries, the Country’s premier industrial chamber, who seek to provide support services and a conducive environment to Sri Lanka’s industries to achieve excellence by interacting with the Government and related organisations; in order to enhance the economic prosperity of Sri Lanka.

A key vision of the CNCI remains to contribute towards the stimulation of local business.

In his message, President Mahinda Rajapaksa said “In today’s conditions of peace there is both a great opportunity and challenge for those in industry and manufacturing.

The success of their activities with total commitment to national development will contribute much to the social and economic development of our country.”
