A high-level delegation from Denmark including the Ambassador of Denmark Peter Taksøe-Jensen, Commercial Counsellor and Head of Trade of the Royal Danish Embassy Morten Viktor Ranieri-Svendsen, Director International Jens Holst-Nielsen , and Nanna BogesvangOlesen from the Confederation of Danish Industry will be visiting Sri Lanka from 1-4 November.
A business delegation comprising 15 leading Danish companies will be accompanying the dignitaries. This delegation is interested in exploring the Sri Lankan market and strengthening ties with the Sri Lankan business community. The main areas of interest for the delegation are Energy, Infrastructure and Water.
The Embassy of Denmark and the Confederation of Danish Industry will be hosting a two-day event, “Danish Days in Sri Lanka 2016”. This event is being organised by the European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka. The two day event comprises of a series of forums and round table discussions followed by a seminar by financial institutions in Sri Lanka. A series of B2B meetings will also be organised for the delegates by the European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (ECCSL).
The delegation will also be hosting a VIP networking dinner and a networking reception on the 2nd and 3rd November respectively. This two day series of events will be held at the Taj Samudra Hotel.
Keynote speeches during the inaugural session on 2 November will be delivered by Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka, along with other dignitaries from the Government of Sri Lanka.
The inaugural session will be followed by a business session where the BOI, the delegation of the European Union and the ECCSL will discuss the Business and Investment Opportunities in Sri Lanka.
