SKF, the leading designer and manufacturer of industrial and automotive engineered solutions in bearings, seals, lubrication, services and mechatronics hosted a customer event in Sri Lanka along with its national distributor Swedish Trading Company (Pvt.) Ltd. on 11 May aboard the Jetliner.

The event themed around ‘Cruising with SKF Knowledge’ was aimed at showcasing SKF’s value proposition of enabling customers to cruise through their productivity goals using SKF Knowledge – by reducing maintenance cost, improving productivity, increasing energy efficiency and optimising designs. A host of SKF products, solutions and services were displayed and demonstrated by SKF’s technical experts.

“Sri Lanka is one of our key markets, in terms of our customers as well as our distributor partners. We have been serving this region for more than three decades. Through this unique event ‘Cruising with SKF Knowledge’, we interacted with our customers, partners and also get an opportunity to showcase our latest products and technologies made available for this market,” said SKF Director, South Asia – Industrial Markets, Regional Sales and Services Sudhir Rege.

One of the highlights of the customer event was the elevation of Swedish Trading Co. to a SKF Certified Maintenance Partner, allowing them to provide machine reliability services through the use of information and technologies proprietary to SKF.

This event took place in the presence of Olaf de Bakker, Vice President, Asia Pacific – Industrial Distribution and Marketing, Dushmantha Senanayake, Managing Director, Swedish Trading Co. among other senior representatives.

“We are excited about our inclusion in SKF’s Certified Maintenance Partner Program,” said Dushmantha Senanayake. “This enables us to partner with our customers more effectively and serve as a source of not only SKF products, but also an array of SKF solutions designed to optimise machinery performance. This will allow us to differentiate our services and pioneering this concept in Sri Lanka, which has been a huge success worldwide.”

The platform also created an opportunity to share significant developments and business plans of SKF worldwide and plans of Regional Sales and Services in the Asia Pacific region.

Over 200 customers and partners attended the customer event, which was a huge success.
